The Saltwater Blog

Most of the fishermen along South East Coast of North Carolina will agree that this has not been a good weather year for offshore boaters. I’ve only managed about 1/3 the normal hours on my boat compared to the last several years. Luckily the times I’ve managed to sneak out, the fishing’s been pretty good.

Lately, my work schedule with my real estate company has been chaotic with normal year ending activities and our marketing plans for 2008. Then on top of it all I just completed an acquisition of a competitor to keep things interesting. I don’t have time for a full fishing report at the moment but I have very quickly put together a video comprised of the few fishing trips I managed in October and November up until today.

The Grouper are in close to shore and tastier than ever, I caught and safely released a loggerhead turtle, I’ve taught an existing great fisherman the joys of bottom fishing for Grouper, and what will probably prove to be my last Flounder gigging trip of the year resulted in a nice doormat for Curtis to stick on his first night stalking adventure.

Many Thanks to everyone that helped and supported me in obtaining my USCG Captains License; it finally arrived and I'm official!

The Trout are biting very well, Grouper too.
