How to Join the Faculty of

SaltwaterUniversity.com

SaltwaterUniversity.com is seeking well qualified fishermen and/or boaters with great writing skills, a plethora of knowledge to share. and a desire to help their fellow man.

In order to provide top notch content to this site, "Faculty" positions are being offered to those whom we think will have a lot to offer in terms of insight, education, knowledge, writing skills, and great pictures.

They writers (Faculty) will get special recognition and privileges on the site including:

  • Fishing or Professional Biographies & personal photos on dedicated pages
  • Free Advertising & Links for their fishing/boating/water related business (if applicable)
  • The full support and backing of Saltwater University for their businesses (if applicable)
  • Free promotional items and thank you gifts
  • Faculty will obviously be viewed as true professionals within the sport by SWU's visitors & members and will reap all the benefits and recognition of such
  • Special Ranks on the SWU Forums
  • Faculty Titles  (see Faculty hierarchy below)
  • When the “Bookstore” portion of the site gets launched, faculty may also get the opportunity to sell their unique products in the Bookstore.

The Faculty hierarchy will work as follows:

  • INSTRUCTOR – submit 3 accepted articles
  • TEACHER – submit 6 accepted articles
  • PROFESSOR – submit 9 accepted articles
  • DEAN – submit 12 accepted articles

Once a Faculty member reaches a level, they will remain there or move up provided they submit a minimum of 2 accepted articles per year in order to keep their Faculty status/rank and in order to help keep the site fresh and growing.  The 2 additional articles per year can help a writer move up the ranks.

Obviously articles must meet certain criteria which include: well written/sounding professional both in terms of English/Grammar and knowledge, interesting and entertaining (not boring), an appropriate coverage of the topic in terms of size and content, must include three good supporting photos/illustrations or a video of good or better quality, must be fresh content/topic to the site (We don’t need three articles describing how to tie Haywire twists), and the author must grant exclusivity of the article and photos to Saltwater University with the exception of their own site or business.

Obviously getting in on the ground floor as a faculty member is the most advantageous. We will always encourage the authors to check with us first before taking the time to write an article that may not be needed or rejected.

If you're interested in chatting with us about joining our faculty, please send us an email including your name, phone number where you can reached, and a brief description of your fishing and/or boating experience/knowledge/expertise.

If you’re not interested in writing, other advertising opportunities will be available for sale in order to finance the site and help it grow.  The Chancellor of this web site has created it and maintains it for fun more than anything so we're always willing to accept trades of goods or services in addition to, or instead of cash for advertising opportunities.
